Welcome to my blog, Twice the Charm! I started this blog when I moved into a large home and had no idea where to start with decorating my home. On a budget, I began to read other blogs about low budget decorating and do it yourself projects. I am a big fan of interior designer, Nate Berkus and was able to attend a live recording of the Nate Berkus Show in October 2011, prior to the show ending.
I started searching for treasures at a local Goodwill store after viewing GoodWill Hunting on the Nate Berkus show. He inspired me to save money by using secondhand items and transforming those items into something that had character and personal interest. It allowed me to be my own designer and put my creativity to use. I started this blog to share my thrift and goodwill finds with others who share the same interests in DIY and home decorating. Also, to show you how much you can save through thrifting when compared to department store prices, while achieving the same look.
I am also a wife and mother of twins. I often find myself constantly repairing holes in the walls resulting in frequent visits to my local Home Depot. In this blog, I will share tips on how to maintain your home, decorate, and how to build your craft through DIY projects and trial and error. I am also interested in attending flea markets, so if you know of any good ones, please send me a note. I look forward to you reading my blog and sharing your own projects with me.
